They say everything is bigger in Texas, and the King Ranch is no exception. One of the largest horse ranches around, it covers an area that would span three or four counties in some other states. The distressed poplar used in our flooring not only comes from the heart of a giant state, it comes to your courtesy of a pretty big idea. Normally, poplar is not used for flooring because it’s a soft wood. But we thought it was a shame that our customers could never adorn their homes and businesses with its striking mix of light tans and rich dark greens. So we found the technology to make this notoriously soft wood twice as hard as oak in its natural state. Now, for the first time, poplar can be used in flooring without concerns of durability. And needless to say, that’s a big deal.
